Technical Problem
The SMTP server is rejecting my password/login
To avoid problems during logging to your SMTP server please make sure that your mail client has the correct settings and that you are using the correct email password.
Use the correct Mail Client settings
The mail client settings are similar for all popular mail clients such as Microsoft Outlook Express, MS Outlook, Mozilla Thunderbird, Eudora etc and should be:
- Incoming mail server (POP3/IMAP server): mail.yourdomain.com
- Outgoing mail server (SMTP server): mail.yourdomain.com Or Host: mail.yourdomain.com
- Username: the full e-mail address like email@yourdomain.com
- SMTP authentication must be enabled for the login to be successful.
IMPORTANT: Please do not use secure authentication to your mail server.
Please find below how to enable the SMTP authentication for two the most popular mail clients:
1. Enabling authentication in Outlook Express
From the Tools menu select Accounts. The Internet Accounts box appears. Select the Mail tab. Your email account appears. Select the appropriate email account by clicking on its name and click the Properties button on the right. Then under the Outgoing Mail Server section check the box My server requires authentication. Do NOT check the box next to Log on using Secure Password Authentication.
2. Enabling authentication in Mozilla Thunderbird
From the Tools menu select Account Settings. The Account Settings box appears. In the white area on the left, select the entry Outgoing Server (SMTP). The Outgoing Server (SMTP) Settings appear on the right. Click on the Edit button. The screen for editing your SMTP settings will appear. Verify that the Use name and password box is checked. Click on the box to check it, if it is not checked. Verify that No is selected in the Use secure connection area.
